We recently reported that OnePlus is planning to release the OnePlus Pad 2 sometime in the second half of 2024. But according to a popular Chinese leakster, Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus Pad 2 release has been delayed.
This isn’t the only device that won’t be released on its expected release date. According to the leakster, the Oppo Pad 3 and OnePlus Watch 3 are also delayed.
Oppo Pad 3, OnePlus Pad 2, and OnePlus Watch 3 to arrive later than expected
The OnePlus Pad 2, expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, was initially anticipated for release sometime between July and December 2024. However, according to DCS, the launch date has been pushed back with no information on the new release date.
In addition to the OnePlus Pad 2, several other IoT products will not be released on their expected release dates. These include the Oppo Pad 3, the OnePlus Watch, a new color option for the OnePlus Buds 3, and the Oppo Enco X3 true wireless earbuds. Among all these postponed devices, the delay of the Oppo Pad 3 is most surprising. This is due to earlier rumors suggesting it was going to be released this month in China.
Expected features of these devices
In addition to reporting the delay, Digital Chat Station also shed light on the tablets’ processing power. According to DCS, both the Oppo Pad 3 and the OnePlus Pad 2 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. The Oppo Pad 3 will also feature a 3K resolution display with a 144Hz refresh rate that offers a peak brightness of 900 nits. It will also have an all-metal body and a 13-megapixel camera on the back. You’ll get an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.
The tablet will run on Android 14 and will come with a 9510mAh battery with 67W fast-charging support. In terms of storage, you’ll get 16GB of RAM along with 512GB of internal storage. Unfortunately, there is not much information available about the OnePlus Pad 2 other than its processor.
The OnePlus Watch 3 is expected to come with the Snapdragon Wear 5 SoC. While the processor will be the same as its predecessor, the OnePlus Watch 2, the new watch may feature the W5 Gen 2 processor, which has not been announced by Qualcomm yet.
